VRGH was built to bring people together through play. This is the story behind our concept, our journey, and the future we are building.
One trip to Thailand
changed everything
It all started during a trip to Thailand where we experienced VR for the first time. We immediately thought: this is insane. What if we could bring this to Amsterdam?
In 2017, we opened a very small location in the heart of the city on the Warmoesstraat. People walked in curious about VR, but very quickly we realized they were staying for something bigger.
Guests were watching each other laugh, scream and compete. Friends started bringing more friends. Families came back together. The reactions became part of the experience itself.
VR was the technology — but people were really coming for each other.

shaped the concept
Warmoesstraat
Our first location in the center of Amsterdam. Small, chaotic, experimental and full of energy. This is where we realized people were not only coming for VR — they were coming for the shared experience.
Rokin
As VRGH kept growing, we opened a second location. We improved the flow, the atmosphere and the hospitality, creating more ways for groups to connect and experience VR together.
Gyroscoopweg
We wanted more space for larger groups, free-roam experiences and full-body tracking. That search led us to Gyroscoopweg — the location where the concept could fully evolve.
Then everything changed
Like many businesses, the pandemic forced us to downscale. We had to close Warmoesstraat and Rokin. What remained was the strongest version of the idea: one location, one clear vision and one mission — bringing people together through play.
They come to laugh together. Compete together. Celebrate together. VR is the medium. Human connection is the experience.

The experience starts long before the game begins: the music, the atmosphere, the drinks, the arcade, the anticipation and the reactions afterwards.
Every detail is designed to make people feel part of something together. Hospitality is not extra — it is part of the immersion.
